We are pleased to say that Action against hunger raised a record £338,135 from their event on Saturday 26th November- far beyond their expectations!
This year’s event took place at 1 Lombard Street, London on , and featured a wonderful line up of chefs – including renowned seafood chef Rick Stein OBE, José Pizarro of restaurants José, Pizarro and José Pizarro, Jacob Kennedy of acclaimed Bocca di Lupo, Marcus Wareing of two-Michelin-starred restaurant Marcus, in Knightsbridge and renowned French chef Raymond Blanc OBE.
This was their Fine Wine Auction’s 10th anniversary. Over the years they have raised more than £1,810,000 through this event. These funds helps us to support people in 47 countries, including Syria, Iraq, South Sudan, Nepal and Yemen.
The amount raised is equivalent to providing 8,050 severely malnourished children with a course of lifesaving therapeutic food – an incredible thing to achieve in just one night. By raising this amount on Saturday, the total raised across the 10 Fine Wine Auctions has now reached more than £2million!
Champagnes and Châteaux support Action against hunger and donated this year Champagne Thiénot Cuvée Alain 2002 for their Wine Auction & Dinner on Saturday night.
