Thiénot wins best Champagne award at Fizz Festival
The Fizz Festival in Altrincham Town Hall in Cheshire took place at the weekend of the 11th-13th November.
Champagne Thiénot was voted the best Champagne at the show and won the people’s choice award.
Festival organiser, Janet Harrison from Cracking Wine, believes it is important that the consumer can choose which wines they think are the best.
“They are the people who buy it after all”
The awards ceremony, like the festival itself, was an informal gathering and marked the end of another successful sparkling event. The organisers strive to make the two days as fun and informative as possible with visitors able to sample a diverse range.
Champagne Thiénot was the most popular again last year
Cracking Wine was founded by Janet Harrison in 2015. It runs fun and informal wine tasting events around the North West.
Cracking Wine organised the UK’s first consumer Fizz Festival at Altrincham Town Hall in November 2015 which was a sell-out event with around 400 people attending.
As a result of the Festival, Janet now runs regular Fizz Clubs on a bi-monthly basis. This involves tastings of 5 different Champagnes and sparkling wines with food, a fizz-quiz and special producer visits from time to time. Next year all ‘fizz activity’ will move to www.thefizzfestival.com
