Canard-Duchêne Vintage, 2014

Born of Léonie Duchêne and Victor Canard’s storied romance, Canard-Duchêne is the only champagne house to declare freedom as a state of mind. Nestled in the heart of the Montagne de Reims region, the house draws inspiration from nature, and celebrates it in each of its cuvees.

“A very nice vintage of great quality with buttery and brioche aromas”

70% Pinot Meunier – 20% Chardonnay 10% Pinot Noir

Vineyard & Vinification Note

Terroir : Villevenard, Ferebrianges, Charly, Baye and Cumières.

Ageing in cellar: 4 years

Sugar content: 8

Vintage 2014: The year 2014 was a mild and rainy winter which helped the vines to bud very early. The spring was characterized by dry, hot and sunny weather. In the summer, the Champagne region had heavy rain fall and cool temperatures which were made up by a very hot and dry September, giving to the grapes perfect ripening. An excellent vintage.

Tasting Note

A pretty pale gold colour. On the nose, buttery notes, giving delicate brioche aromas on aeration. The palate is elegant and refreshing, with brioche flavours.

Food Pairing

Squash ravioli with sage butter.

Chicken and mushroom pie.

Fillet of sole with lemon butter
