Vineyard & Vinification Note

The parcels are spread over the entire area of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.

The various locations boast four different types of terroir which has great impact on the complexity in the wines. There are lime-rich, cool locations as well as dry, warm sandy soil.

24 hectares of Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge

The vines are between 35 and 75 years old.

Harvest is done by hand.

‘Réserve des 2 Frères’ is made with a selection of finished wines, a cellar selection.  Aged in barriques, one-third of which are new.

Tasting Note

Ample, concentrated, this wine develops aromas of blackcurrant, blackberries, spices as well as smoky notes. The texture is smooth and the tannic structure requires a few years of ageing.

This wine is made for ageing, between 12 and 15 years.

Wine Advocate Tasting Note

A cellar selection aged in barriques, one-third of which are new, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Reserve des 2 Freres combines cedar and vanilla aromas with red raspberries to create a rich, creamy, full-bodied wine with huge concentration and impressive length. It’s hard not to like this, despite the obvious oak and alcoholic warmth. 94 Points, Joe Czerwinski, October 2016

James Suckling Tasting Note

A big statement wine, with bold oak presence and an array of spiced up red plum and blackberry fruits. The palate delivers impressive power in a bold and concentrated style. An extremely plush, mocha-flavored finish. Best from 2020. 94 Points, August 2017

Jeb Dunnuck Tasting Note

The 2015 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Reserve des Deux Freres is more backward and structured, yet offers serious amounts of darker fruits, currants, smoked herbs, roasted meats and licorice aromas and flavors. Like the Cuvée Mon Aïeul, this cuvée sees plenty of stems, yet they’re beautifully integrated and balanced by masses of fruit. Full-bodied, concentrated, incredibly well textured and balanced, with bright acidity, forget bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following 15-20 years. 96+ Points,

Vinous Tasting Note

Opaque ruby. A complex, expansive bouquet evokes ripe dark berries, candied flowers, vanilla and woodsmoke, and a suave Indian spice nuance builds in the glass. Broad and seamless in the mouth, offering deeply concentrated blackberry, cherry cola and violet pastille flavors and a sweetening mocha flourish. Closes extremely long and sappy; smooth, sneaky tannins shape the lush dark fruit. 93-95 Points

Food Pairing

Enjoy with game, a rack of lamb and strong cheeses.
