Domaine Gueugnon-Remond is a small family estate of 12 high quality hectares of vineyards concentrated on a 6km radius around Charnay-Les-Mâcon. Established in 1980 and run by second-generation winegrowers, Véronique and Jean-Christophe Rémond since 1997. They immediately decided to practice sustainable winegrowing when they took over. Bringing out the very core of the terroir, they are constantly looking for the purity of the fruit and the mature expression of the Chardonnay.
Vineyard & Vinification Note
Vines thirty years operated in the municipality of Davayé at a place called “La Côte Rôtie” at mid-slope of the Rock Vergisson oriented towards the rising sun on a Jurassic limestone provides excellent expression of Chardonnay.
Mechanical harvesting, traditional vinification in vats with temperature control during fermentation, aged in vats until bottling in April.
Gorgeous nose, floral and lively. Elegant, really nice freshness with aromas of vanilla, apple and pear. A gorgeous wine!
“Saint-Véran is known for a fuller style of Chardonnay, and this example is true to that; it’s like one big apple pie. Succulent apple flesh, honeysuckle, white blossom and jasmine mingle with a bitter almond and buttery biscuit finish. Textured and mouthfilling.” 91 Points, Natalie Earl, Decanter Magazine
