We are pleased to release Domaine Trapet 2017 Vintage En Primeur!!
Vintage 2017 at Trapet: The Wine Advocate
“Jean-Louis Trapet was justifiably pleased with his 2017 collection, a set of wines that will delight Burgundy purists with their precise, racy and terroir-driven personalities. These are tangy, incisive wines that will evolve into beautifully transparent renditions of their appellations with a bit of bottle age, though they are so nicely balanced that they will also be hard to resist out of the blocks. Trapet began picking on September 6 and was happy with the conditions of the harvest. As usual, several cuvées saw some whole cluster. Quantities were sufficiently generous to permit standalone cuvées of Petite Chapelle and Clos Prieur, and next year several small tanks have been purchased to vinify separately the premiers crus of Combottes, Ergots and Corbeaux which have hitherto been blended into the Domaine’s Capita bottling.” William Kelley, January 2019
Notes on Domaine Trapet Père et Fils:
Seventh generation Gevrey-Chambertin estate and one of the largest holders of Chambertin.
Jean-Louis Trapet is one of the great names in Gevrey-Chambertin. He is fashioning wines of purity, finesse and elegance. He is creating the soil-driven and absolutely pure wines of his father and grandfather’s era. While the estate is best known for its three grand crus, the quality at Domaine Trapet is outstanding up and down the hierarchy of their vineyard holdings and deserves its place among the very top names of the appellation.
