Champagne Thiénot Cuvée Alain 2008

A father’s champagne to celebrate father’s day!

Alain Thiénot is the founder of Champagne Thiénot and a father to daughter Garance and son Stanislas, ambassadors of the house.

Alain created his own Champagne House in 1985 and today, always present at their side, transmits his knowledge and his secrets to them. He dedicated 2 champagnes to his children, named after each of them.

The Cuvée Alain Thiénot is a stunning blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Only crafted in outstanding years, this is an exceptional Champagne of great complexity and perfect harmony.

What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than to offer your dad a 100% family Champagne! 🍾

The nose is complex and expressive with notes of fleshy yellow fruits, mango, dried flowers and lightly toasted bread. The palate is suave and fresh with a silky effervescence and exceptional length.

James Suckling 95 Points, March 2021

Château La Garde Blanc 2020, Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux

The 2020 vintage is a masterclass in purity and elegance from the great white wines of Château La Garde.

On the nose, in a flourish of freshness the wine melds complex citrus fruit notes expressing all the purity of Sauvignon blanc on limestone. Chiselled, chalky and mineral on the palate, the wine lingers in a long, balanced, poised finish. A gastronomic, secret treasure.

La Terrasse de La Garde 2019, Pessac-Léognan

Second wine of Chateau La Garde, La Terrasse is a beautiful rich and balanced wine.

Impressive Merlot freshness on the nose, characterised by succulent aromas of redcurrants and cassis, underpinned by a delicate touch of smoke.  Full-flavoured on the palate, with impressive density and power. The wine culminates in a generous finish, again enhanced by an appealing subtle smoky underlayer.

Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St Jacques, 2017, Burgundy

A classic red Burgundy from this 9 ha family winery for Father’s Day

“Deft wood influence frames brooding and reticent aromas of various dark berries, humus-suffused forest floor and herbal tea. There is solid density and evident power and minerality to the medium weight flavors that deliver very good length on the robust, compact, focused and youthfully austere finish. This is a classically styled LSJ and will require at least some forbearance.” 92 Points ♥, Burghound, Jan 2020

Domaine Stéphane Pichat Côte-Rôtie Les Grandes Places, 2015, Rhone

Les Grandes Places is made from a single plot on this fabulous site, matured for 36 months in new oak barriques. A really special wine for Father’s Day!

“A full-bodied tannic beast for aging 20 years, the 2015 Cote Rotie Les Grandes Places is a monument to the Syrah grape grown on this steep slope. It’s floral and peppery upfront, loaded with masses of dark fruit and glides to a long, velvety finish.” 96+ points, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

Domaine Fond Croze Côtes-du-Rhône Villages “Shyrus” Vaison La Romaine 2021(Organic)

“Shyrus” is a selection of the most beautiful Syrah vines located at the top of the northern slopes of our Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde vineyard.

“All Syrah from a single parcel, aged in oak, the 2021 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Vaison-La-Romaine Shyrus looks to be slightly more successful, with a terrific sense of purity in its blue fruits, pepper, and violet-tinged aromatics. These carry to a medium-bodied Syrah delivering perfectly ripe tannins, a polished, elegant mouthfeel, and outstanding length.” 90-92 Points, Jeb Dunnuck, March 2023

Château La Voulte-Gasparets Corbières Boutenac Cuvée Romain Pauc, 2015,Languedoc-Roussillon

A grand Vin du Languedoc!

Cuvée Romain Pauc reveals a powerful and racy nose, of great finesse, mixing floral and fruity aromas. Ample and full, the palate has a pleasant fruit character and beautiful firm tannins.

And why not treat your dad to a magnum?

Domaine des Entrefaux Crozes-Hermitage Les Machonnières 2016 (Organic), Rhone (magnum)

A fantastic Crozes-Hermitage from this well-established family winery.

Ripe, spicy character with some vegetal notes and balanced oak, rose and leather, olive, blackberry and fruit in alcohol, artichoke, cocoa and ras-el-anout. The palate is full and silky.

Château Rahoul Graves, 2009 (magnum)

An old vintage in a magnum bottle is a wonderful gift to give your father.

Red and black fruit aromas of generously ripe blackcurrant, blackberry and redcurrant dominate the bouquet. Initially soft on the palate, the wine develops impressively harmonious tannins and alcohol. The tannins are delicate and create a wine with abundant charm.

Dixon’s Double Diamond 10 Year Old Tawny Port NV

Port is not just for Christmas. It is a great wine all year round, and a perfect drink or present for father’s day.

The grapes come from the finest vineyards of the sun-baked upper Douro Valley. Carefully matured in oak casks in the cool, dark lodges of Vila Nova de Gaia, it develops a rich, tawny colour and a smooth, complex taste with hints of apricots and dried fruits.
