Lawson’s Dry Hills has been selected as a finalist in the “Excellence in Sustainability” category in the New Zealand International Business Awards (NZIBA), organised by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise, and the Climate Action Leader Award in the Sustainable Business Awards, organised by the Sustainable Business Network.
The NZIBA award recognises organisations that embed sustainability into the fabric of their business, achieving international growth while having a positive impact on people and the planet, while the SBA award recognises and celebrates success in sustainability and will be presented to an organisation actively leading and delivering impact and scale with climate action.
Commenting on the announcements, Director and General Manger, Sion Barnsley said, “We understood the need for businesses to operate more sustainably when we adopted ISO14001 back in 2011 and it has underpinned our decision-making ever since”. He continues, “It’s great for our small team to get this recognition and we hope the exposure encourages other wine companies to take action”.

Lawson’s Dry Hills is currently the only New Zealand wine producer to hold both ISO14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO14064 (carbonzero) accreditations.
Lawson’s Dry Hills is also certified under Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand and under Appellation Marlborough Wine.
