Vineyard & Vinification Note

The meticulous restructuring of Ricaud’s vineyards undertaken by Dourthe in 2008 has reaped its rewards with this complex vintage. The vines planted on the magnificent, predominantly clay-limestone terroir, fared well despite significant variations in water supplies. Weather conditions were ideal from August onwards and promoted good noble rot development. Harvesting was carried out in three successive sweeps through the vineyard in mid-October. Aged in oaked barrels for 12 months

Tasting Note

Stunning gold in colour and characterised on the nose by aromas of citrus fruit and white peach. Lovely attack on the palate. The citrus fruit aromas sharpen and intensify to offer orange peel notes lifted with a hint of vanilla from fermentation in new barriques. The acidity balances well with the sweetness. Long fresh finish.

Food Pairing

Perfect match with foie gras, white meat (poultry), fish (cod) and shellfish, asian dishes (sushis, maki and deserts such as mango and coconut rice sushi)
