Established in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Amiot Family has worked in vines and wines for over ten generations. Grandfather Pierre established the Domaine’s identity by creating the first label in 1976. His son, Jean-Louis, was the artisan of recognition for the Domaine from the 1980s. His wife, Chantal, came to support him in 2012. Today, their son Léon wishes to perpetuate the family tradition: the three roses that appear on the label recall the motto “Sans varier” of the Counts of Vergy, carrying on “without changing” to express the excellence of their terroirs.

100% Pinot Noir

Vineyard & Vinification Note

The Domaine extends over 5 hectares from Gevrey-Chambertin as far as Chambolle-Musigny.

The vine is exposed to the east, south-east, at an altitude of 250m. It rests on limestone soils with rocks, marls, red silt, and pebbles. The plots are spread over 5 hamlets called:

« Bas Cheneverys », « Clos Solon », « Très Girard », « En Seuvrey » and « les Porroux ».

The “Clos Solon” is on deep soil, with more marl, it brings fruit and finesse. The “Bas Cheneverys”, on a soil rich in small pebbles, gives structure and power.

Surface area: 1 hectare

Age of vines: Plantation from 1947 to the present day

Yield: 50 HL/HA

HVE3 Certified (high environmental value certificate)

In the main plot on the surface, Clos Solon, Léon Amiot puts in plant cover to keep it cool and humid in hot weather. In the Porroux, natural spreading trials (cattle manure, sheep, etc.) are carried out.

The vinification is adapted to the vintage, to produce the best wines and to preserve the typicality of the terroir. Ageing in oak barrels lasts 16 to 18 months.

Exuberantly fresh aromas of pretty plum, red and dark currant and earth give way to nicely vibrant, supple and delicious middleweight flavors that offer reasonably good depth and persistence. I like the balance and this attractive effort should drink well after only a few years of keeping. 88 Points, January 2023

Food Pairing

Perfect pairing to red meats and refined cheeses.
