Description
Domaine Fond Croze was established in 1918 by Charles Long. Now in its fourth generation, this family business is run by brothers Daniel (Vineyard Manager) and Bruno Long (Winemaker). Daniel looks after the 70-hectare vineyard and applies viticulture that respects the environment. Their vineyard was converted to organic farming in 2009. Bruno perfects himself in the field of oenology and elaborates on today’s cuvées of excellence and character.

Vineyard & Vinification Note
This wine comes from the vineyard in Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde. Its exposure on the northern slope of the hill offers a magnificent freshness.
Terroir: Vineyard of Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde, stony clay-limestone hillsides, with a North-West exposure offering a slight freshness in the mouth. Cuvée made with old Grenache vines.
The harvest is sorted and destemmed. Vinification is extended to allow optimal extraction and is done in concrete vats. The wine is aged in 350-litre French oak barrels for one year.
Tasting Note
Very intense, ruby red colour with purplish reflections. On the nose, aromas of intense fruit, liquorice, and spices. In the mouth, a remarkable power. Elegant and very long in retro-olfaction with a spicy aromatic finish.
Ageing potential: 4 to 7 years

Coming from the La Croix du Coq lieu-dit and all Grenache aged in used oak, the 2021 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Vaison-La-Romaine Romanaise has a juicy, mulberry, kirsch, pepper, and candied violet-like bouquet as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It shows the pretty, fresh, elegant style of the vintage but is balanced and has ripe tannins as well as a great finish. 88/90 Points, March 2023
Food Pairing
Perfect with red meat, grilled meat, game and roasted lamb.
