Nestling in the valley above Chassagne and Puligny-Montrachet, lie the two villages of Gamay and Saint Aubin. Sharing the Saint-Aubin appellation, they are immensely proud of their proximity to Le Montrachet itself. After extensive tasting we discovered Sylvain Langoureau with the very style we were looking for – rich, generous, subtly-oaked, well-balanced acidity.

Grape

100% Chardonnay

Vineyard & Vinification Note

Environment: very good conditions allowing good maturity

Yield: 48hl/ha

Soil: Clay-limestone with white marl and rocks subsoil.

Age of vines: 60 years

Density: 55 hectares

Vinification and ageing: After pressing, the musts are stabilised during 12 to 24 hours. Fermentation in barrels, 25% new oak. Ageing for 10 months then fining in barrels and bottling after a light filtration

Burghound

This is aromatically fairly similar to the Chalumeaux but with a slightly cooler character thanks to the presence of more citrus elements that can also be found on the dense and seductive middle weight flavors that flash even more minerality on the clean and decidedly dry finale that is not quite as complex though just as persistent. It’s possible that this quality effort will catch the Chalumeaux in time. 92 Points, Coup de Coeur, June 2022

Pairs beautifully with pan-fried foie gras, fish (sole, monkfish), shellfish, poultry and cheese.

We offer FREE UK mainland delivery to most postcodes for all orders over £120.

Highlands and islands will be charged separately and calculated at checkout.

Delivery Schedule:

We deliver Monday to Friday, some bank holiday deliveries are possible, please check by replying to your confirmation email.

CENTRAL LONDON: We do our best to make all central London deliveries the next working day for orders placed before 12pm.

GREATER LONDON: Again for orders placed before noon we will endeavour to deliver the next day. Some areas might take us a little longer to cover, but it is unusual for these deliveries not to be within three working days.

UK MAINLAND: We deliver most orders around the rest of the UK within a working week, but some harder to reach postcodes like the north of Scotland or Isle of Wright might take longer. Please contact us for details.

Special Instructions:

If you have special delivery requirements e.g. by a specific date, am/pm, or deliver to a neighbour if out – please add them to the delivery instructions during checkout and we will try to fulfil them within reason.

You can also ask for a gift card with a personalised message to be added to your delivery at a cost, please contact us to arrange.

Receiving your Delivery:

Please ensure someone is present to receive and sign for the goods at the delivery address. Goods must be examined; any discrepancy with your order, any damage or errors must be reported and logged on the driver’s ePOD device. Please call us if in doubt.

If you have given us an alternative address or instructions to leave your delivery at a safe place, our driver will do that but this means that we can no longer be held responsible for any loss, damage or mispicks.

Should we be unable to deliver we will try and deliver on the next available day. We might have to charge you the cost of re-delivering. This will be confirmed by email
