“Fragrant scents of orange blossom, honey, white flowers and peaches introduce Trapet’s 2019 Bourgogne Blanc, a medium-bodied, fleshy and exotic wine that’s ample, satiny and open-knit. As I’ve written before, perhaps it’s the powers of suggestion at work, but its subtly musky bouquet seems to nod to Trapet’s work in Alsace”. 87 Points, Wine Advocate, William Kelley, February 2020

Seventh generation Gevrey-Chambertin estate and one of the largest holders of Chambertin.

Jean-Louis Trapet is one of the great names in Gevrey-Chambertin. He is fashioning wines of purity, finesse and elegance. He is creating the soil-driven and absolutely pure wines of his father and grandfather’s era. While the estate is best known for its three grand crus, the quality at Domaine Trapet is outstanding up and down the hierarchy of their vineyard holdings and deserves its place among the very top names of the appellation.

The Wine Advocate Tasting Note:

Fragrant scents of orange blossom, honey, white flowers and peaches introduce Trapet’s 2019 Bourgogne Blanc, a medium-bodied, fleshy and exotic wine that’s ample, satiny and open-knit. As I’ve written before, perhaps it’s the powers of suggestion at work, but its subtly musky bouquet seems to nod to Trapet’s work in Alsace. 87 Points, William Kelley, January 2021

DRINK 2020-2028

Allen Meadows’ Burghound Tasting Note:

A whiff of the exotic in the form of viognier adds breadth to the mostly white fleshed fruit nose that is trimmed in a hint of wood. The middle weight flavors are rich to the point of opulence though the lemon-tinged acidity maintains the balance on the refreshing finish. To enjoy upon release. 86 Points, June 2021

Food Pairing

Great with grilled meat, game and hard mature cheeses
