Description
The Gadais have specialised in making quality Muscadet since the early 1950s and are based in the village of Saint-Fiacre in the heart of the Sèvre et Maine.
Refined by five successive generations of the Gadais Family, the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie “Peninsula” is made from a selection of their oldest vines. This exceptional Muscadet is only produced during great years to guarantee the highest level of quality.

Soil: Gneiss with two types of mica. Planted for the most part in 1929. The product of rigorous mass selection, these old vines thrive on the Terroir of Saint-Fiacre. Age of vines: Vines over fifty years old; some were planted in 1929. Yield: 41hl/ha Production area: 2.50 hectares. Planting density: 7,000 vines per hectare.
Growing methods: Simple Guyot pruning, exclusively organic amendments. Crop protection in sustainable culture. Number of bottles produced: 12,000 bottles
Winemaking and maturing: Harvest at full maturity, ensuring maximum flavour with the best balance.
Following a cold static settling of 12 hours, wines are fermented without yeast addition for very slow fermentation, approximately three weeks and aged on lees before bottling in the Autumn, after 14 months of ageing, without fining or filtration.
