Les Deux Cols is Simon Tyrrell’s own wine producing business, run in collaboration with Charles Derain. This is a hands-on winemaking venture from grape to bottle with the aim being to make the type of wines that reflect their passion for balance, elegance and freshness whilst also expressing the power of the South. Using grapes that have been hand harvested from vineyards within the commune of Signargues, to the south west of Avignon.

100% Syrah

Vineyard & Vinification Note

Vineyard is situated in the commune of Estézargues (Gard). There are two separate parcels, one on sandy soils over a limestone base and the other with a clay topsoil over limestone with a scattering of quartz stones.

Age of vines is 30 years on average

Vinification: Using stainless steel tanks, one third of the grapes are de-stemmed and lightly crushed and the rest are added whole bunch. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out at low temperatures in order to retain fresh fruit aromas and extraction is achieved by daily, gentle pumpovers. Malolactic fermentation and further ageing on fine lees during ten months is done in 228 litre barrelsTasting Note

Tasting Note

Deep purple in colour. Intense aromas of black fruits, lead pencil and Provençal herbs. On the palate it is medium bodied with a fine tannic structure and a fine bead of acidity that helps prolong the flavours.

Food Pairing

Matches well with dishes such as roast lamb, rabbit in a cream and mustard sauce and game such as quail or pigeon.

Ageing potential: 6-7 years

We offer FREE UK mainland delivery to most postcodes for all orders over £100.

Highlands and islands will be charged separately and calculated at checkout.

Delivery Schedule:

We deliver Monday to Friday, some bank holiday deliveries are possible, please check by replying to your confirmation email.

CENTRAL LONDON: We do our best to make all central London deliveries the next working day for orders placed before 12pm.

GREATER LONDON: Again for orders placed before noon we will endeavour to deliver the next day. Some areas might take us a little longer to cover, but it is unusual for these deliveries not to be within three working days.

UK MAINLAND: We deliver most orders around the rest of the UK within a working week, but some harder to reach postcodes like the north of Scotland or Isle of Wright might take longer. Please contact us for details.

Special Instructions:

If you have special delivery requirements e.g. by a specific date, am/pm, or deliver to a neighbour if out – please add them to the delivery instructions during checkout and we will try to fulfil them within reason.

You can also ask for a gift card with a personalised message to be added to your delivery at a cost, please contact us to arrange.

We cannot specify exact delivery times, but if you have a particular request or deadline to meet, do let us know by giving us a call on 0207 3269655 or sending an email to Orders@ChampagnesAndChateaux.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate all requests. Please make sure we have your correct contact telephone number with your order.

If you need your wine by a particular date, please let us know when ordering by replying to your order confirmation email. If you are in any doubt about when you might receive your order simply email or call us and we will let you know.

Receiving your Delivery:

Please ensure someone is present to receive and sign for the goods at the delivery address. Goods must be examined; any discrepancy with your order, any damage or errors must be reported and logged on the driver’s ePOD device. Please call us if in doubt.

If you have given us an alternative address or instructions to leave your delivery at a safe place, our driver will do that but this means that we can no longer be held responsible for any loss, damage or mispicks.

Should we be unable to deliver we will try and deliver on the next available day. We might have to charge you the cost of re-delivering. This will be confirmed by email.
