Description
Montebaco is the brand of wines grown at Finca Monte Alto, which straddles the border of two municipalities at the western end of the D.O. Ribera del Duero (Valbuena and Pesquera. This single-estate winery, run by the Esteban family, uses only the grapes from their vineyards, located between 850 and 900m above sea level in a side valley to the Duero called the Jaramiel. Manuel Esteban grows almost exclusively Tinto Fino, the classic grape of Ribera, and a small amount of Merlot.

Controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Aged in barrel for 12 months. French and American oak
Tasting Note
Deep cherry colour. Red fruit and spices on the nose. Fresh, round, full, lots of red fruit aromas. Great ageing potential
Food Pairing
Pairs well with lamb, white meat, mushrooms, and cheeses such as manchego.
