Château Rahoul blanc 2016, Graves, Bordeaux ♥ François, Christophe J and Thierry’s wine
When we asked everyone, this wine came up lots! It is so good value for money. Really elegant with delicious fruity aromas and exotic notes.
“Renowned for Semillon cultivated on gravel, aromas of white peach and pear and a hint of smoke define this Rahoul 2016. Cultivated on clay over a limestone subsoil in certain parcels on the estate, appealing Sauvignon blanc lends lingering aromas offering mineral character, freshness and length. This is a successful blend, largely due to rigorously monitored harvesting dates, which lend round, fresh character and length to this superb white wine terroir.”
Food pairing: Château Rahoul Blanc matches perfectly poultry (guinea fowl, roasted chicken), fishes (lobster, skate with cream and sauces), crustacean (oysters, crab), and cheese (unpasteurised and mature cheese).
Pouilly Fuissé 2016 Vieilles Vignes, Domaine Denis Jeandeau, Burgundy ♥ Christophe G’s wine
Biodynamic producer Denis Jeandeau is practically family! Well he is the cousin of Christophe…. 😊 and we are glad he brought on the list the wines of his talented young cousin. Denis’ wines are on many Michelin-Star and top tables in France. His wines are just superb.
“The 2016 Pouilly-Fuissé Vieilles Vignes is lovely, wafting from the glass with notes of lemon oil, honeysuckle, pastry cream, oatmeal and mint. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with bright acids, good depth at the core and a saline, tangy finish.” 91 Points, Wine Advocate, William Kelley, August 2018

Staying in the Maconnais region, we really like the St Véran from this small Domaine. Purity of fruit and delicacy!
Food pairing: Ideally accompanies shellfish, fish and lightly sauced meat dishes
Lugana 2018, Azienda Agricola Citari, Lombardia, Italy ♥ Everyone’s wine!
Another wine that each of us love! It is such a good-value wine and always a success with anyone we show the wine to. A great success for us with our restaurant customers by the glass. This Lugana has appealing fresh fruit on the nose and palate, with particular reference to apple, white peach and pleasant citrus notes; typical of this variety.

Food pairing: Great on its own but also with appetisers. It privileges fine and delicate dishes such as Oyster, fish dishes as well as in structured recipes, also goes with eggs and mild cheeses.
Gruner Veltliner Rosshimmel 2018, Weingut Gottfried Mittelbach, Austria ♥ Anna’s wine
We listed this stunning Grüner Veltliner a couple of years ago. We love the purity of Gottfried’s junior wines. Gottfried is the 3rd generation member of this family winery. He cares a lot about his wines and the environment. A beautiful area where their dog Murphy can run free in the vineyards – we are totally in love with Murphy! 🐶
A trocken style, nice mineral bite. Peachy fruit, long finish.
Food pairing: A great partner to fish, seafood and poultry. Also very good with Asian food and as an aperitif
Albariño Davila 2017, Adegas Valmiñor, Spain ♥ Christophe J’s wine
Another one of our favourites, this Albariño has elegant aromas of tropical fruits and floral notes. The palate is well balanced, fresh and rich with a fine and lengthy finish.
Intensity and aromatic complexity on the nose reminiscent of spring flowers, wrapped in notes of mango and pineapple. The palate shows a perfect balance between smoothness and acidity, with hints of tropical fruit combined with aromatic herbs. Elegant, round, mineral and complex wine. Very long
Food pairing: As well as to be enjoyed on its own as a refreshing aperitif, this Albariño is perfect with a plate of oysters, a seafood platter and fish. Great with citrus-based fish dishes but also can cut through some creamy or buttery dishes due to its acidity.
