This highly regarded family-owned Domaine was started in 1955 by Daniel Rion, with just two hectares of vines in the commune of Vosne Romanée, which had been left to him by his paternal grandfather. Forty years later in 1995 Daniel retired. Today his children, Pascale, Olivier and Christophe run a domaine of eighteen hectares in eighteen different appellations, in six villages of the Côtes de Nuits and the Hautes Côtes. They believe in minimal intervention in the winery, using a combination of modern techniques and traditional practices learned from their father. Their success is directly related to the quality of their wine making, which always seeks to produce wines with delicate tannins, deep colour and rich fruit.

Vineyard & Vinification Note
Soil: Located at an altitude of 350m, limestone soil with plenty of pebbles.
Vinification: The grapes are harvested by hand; the whole bunches are put in the press. The juice is then placed in tanks for a period of 24 to 48 hours. After this time, the must is put in barrels and in vats for alcoholic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 months.
Tasting Note
Beautiful shiny straw yellow, the nose is rich and fat, reminiscent of a harvest of ripe grapes. A first floral note evolves into marshmallow candy. After aeration, the olfaction ends with a muscat variety sensation.
The palate starts on a full note, followed by a beautiful aromatic expression where hints of flowers, honey and menthol mingle. The wine is rich, and is just titillated by a great acidity, without being dominant.
The result is a beautiful texture on the palate, prolonged by a beautiful finish with hints of muscat. This wine, rich from start to finish, is ultimately very distinctive, both in terms of its vintage and its terroir.
