U.B.A - Unperfect but amazing The beauty of authenticity through imperfection Sydonios' philosophy of embracing imperfections as a
With a heavy heart, we learn the tragic news that our friend Denis Jeandeau has sadly passed away.
A wonderful human being, lovable, charismatic and jovial, Denis always greeted us with a huge smile. He had an infectious laugh – You couldn’t be in the same room as Denis laughing and not have the giggles yourself!
Denis was an extraordinary person. Born in 1977 to rebuild the vintage, as Denis said, he was born to be a vigneron. Incredibly talented, Artisan wine grower Denis aimed to craft quality wines naturally while respecting the environment and terroir. His wines were of beautiful purity. His constant progress had placed him among the elite winegrowers of the appellation and established him as one of the most exciting winemakers in the Mâconnais.
We have known Denis since he set up his own Domaine in 2006 and have enjoyed watching him grow quickly into a highly talented winemaker.
“During my last trip to Burgundy in late April this year, Denis was in great form and it was a happy reunion. We went to visit the wonderful vineyards of St Véran and Solutré. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I took pictures of him mucking about in front of Solutré. We had lunch along the Saône and shared a charcuterie platter with a glass of his Pouilly Fuissé. We had a wonderful time together, and I am so glad I got to see him for the last time. He will be greatly missed.” Christophe Galez, C&C
Apart from his exceptional wines, we will miss his joie de vivre, lovable character, charisma, and wild dancing moves!
Burgundy is in mourning, who loses with him one of the rising stars of the Mâconnais.
You are gone too soon. You will be sorely missed, our friend. R.I.P.
