We are delighted to tell you that New Zealand Winegrowers Lawson's Dry Hills was awarded two awards for
What would you pair with a vegetarian lasagna? There are many wine pairings, depending on the vegetables used for your lasagna.
An Autumnal lasagna with pumpkin or butternut would go well with a Chardonnay – we particularly like the white wines from Domaine Gueugnon Remond in Burgundy, and their Bourgogne Vieilles Vignes is the best match with pumpkin. Another great pairing with pumpkin is a Viognier from the Rhône. Le Viognier Chateau Val Joanis is an excellent, exuberant wine that works well with the pumpkin’s earthy, sweet flavours. Staying with the whites, we also like pairing pumpkin lasagna with Grüner Veltliner Mittelbach from Austria. If you prefer reds, the juicy with good acidity Barbera d’Alba – and incredibly versatile with food – is one to try as a pairing.
Estelle makes a mean Mushroom, spinach and tomato lasagna, which she loves pairing with Chianti Classico by Casale dello Sparviero.
“A real classic. Intense and soft at the same time. It is fresh and fruity with a long, fresh finish. This Chianti is a perfect match for my vegetarian lasagna. The chianti enhances the earthy mushroom, spinach, and rich tomato sauce.” Estelle
