Description
Domaine Fond Croze was established in 1918 by Charles Long. Now in its fourth generation, this family business is run by brothers Daniel (Vineyard Manager) and Bruno Long (Winemaker). Daniel looks after the 70-hectare vineyard and takes care to apply viticulture that respects the environment. Their vineyard was converted to organic farming in 2009. Bruno perfects himself in the field of oenology and elaborates today cuvées of excellence and character.

Vineyard & Vinification Note
This wine comes from the vineyard in Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde. Its exposure on the northern slope of the hill offers a magnificent freshness.
Vineyard of Saint-Roman-De-Malegarde, stony clay-limestone hillsides, with a North-West exposure. Cuvée made with a selection of the finest Syrah from our vineyard.
The harvest is sorted and destemmed. The vinification is long in order to allow an optimal extraction and takes place in concrete vats. Aged in French oak barrels for one year.
Tasting Note
This wine has a deep garnet colour with purplish reflections. On the nose, the first aromas are complex and after a slight aeration it releases aromas of stewed black berries and candied cherries. On the palate, we detect a nice acidity with very present and structured tannins. This wine offers aromas of black fruits as well as toasted notes on the finish. Complex and well balanced, the finish is long.
Ageing potential: 4 to 7 years

Deep purple hued with a classic Syrah nose of ripe black fruits, game, violets, and peppery notes, the 2022 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Vaison-La-Romaine Shyrus hits the palate with medium to full body, ripe yet building tannins, a good sense of freshness, and outstanding length. It’s going to need a few years of bottle age, but it should be outstanding. 90-92 Points, October 2023
Food Pairing
Perfect with steak, game, a beef lasagna and strong cheeses.
